So you want to see Mt Fuji, that 3,776-meter-high icon of Japan? Whether you plan to climb to the summit or just Fuji-spot around the lakes below, there are a few different transport options. Highway buses are the cheapest and most convenient but if you’re looking for a little bit more comfort, you can try the Fuji Excursion limited express train or one of the other fancy, special trains on the Fujikyu Railway.

  1. If I already have a JR pass then I need to go to JR office shinjuku station to book seats on the train and pay for the other half of the journey? Or is this something I can do well in advanced online?

  2. when will be a good time period to see fuji-san the clearest?

  3. the bus it is best to book a round-way trip a few days before, as availability is hard to get. I booked the kawaguchiko bus few days before, and went to kawaguchiko and tried to book a bus back to tokyo, but bus tickets were sold out

  4. I'm doing a Japan theme park tour next year and Fuji Q is first on my list. This is so helpful. Thanks!

  5. Hi.. I was wondering how to get back from the 5th station to Tokyo in the evening? Thank you 🙂

  6. If I have only a day to spare, should I visit Kawaguchiko or Hakone? (I'll be visiting this October)
