  1. Portable safe to lock everything in after taking pics and purchasing food. We attached our beach loungers together and enjoy the ocean. Very convenient when the beach is crowded

  2. We just got back from Adventure of the Seas to Bermuda & we purchased a set of two triple-seal waterproof waist pouches from Amazon. Hubby kept IDs & cash, I kept the phone. They were nice & flat & mine actually fit nicely under the shirted portion of my swim top.

  3. Is it necessary to bring your passport with you on day excursions off the ship?

  4. I always attach one strap of my backpack to my chair. It won't stop a determined thief, but it will slow them down if they're trying to grab and run.
I also try to never keep everything in one place. Like my wallet and phone are never in the same pocket or bag. Might lose a couple things but not everything.

  5. Put them on my wheelchair in a bag usually because someone have to push me which means unless we are in the water a person would have to be sure enough nuts to take it with someone standing right there holding the chair.

  6. This is always a concern for us. We purchased waterproof pouches from Amazon so we are ready for rain and excursions.

  7. Most of the time I travel alone, so I bring a bright orange waterproof bag. I keep my towel, and everything in it. When swimming I have a tether to my ankle and it comes in handy when snorkeling, etc. for added safety so I am more visible to boats.

  8. Keep an eye on your bag everywhere you go. 20 yrs ago my son & I were in Florence, Italy. We went into a very nice, almost upscale, cafe for lunch. We chose that place because it had A/C and didn’t seem to have “sketchy” people working and eating there. I draped one of the straps of my day bag over the back of my chair & sent my son up to the counter to order for us. I turned around, in my chair, to face the counter. My back was turned for MAYBE a minute or 2!! I turned back and my bag was gone!!! We searched the restaurant, bathroom, etc. EVERY THING was in the bag: passports, credit card, cash & hotel room key!! I was a seasoned traveler and should have known better TO KEEP THAT BAG ON MY BODY…even when sitting at a table!!
We walked to the US Embassy, hoping for help. The door was opened by a man who told us it was lunchtime and they couldn’t help us. We then walked and walked back to our hotel. I had copies of everything in the safe in the room….credit card, passports, etc. I spent hours and hours that day dealing with credit card….wasted day.
We went on to Rome the next day and spent another wasted day at the American Embassy, getting new passports. THEY ONLY WOULD TAKE CASH. Luckily I had some back at the hotel!!!
I had a 2nd credit card which we used for the remainder of our trip, but I felt sick and stunned the entire time!! POINT OF STORY: KEEP YOUR BAG ON YOUR BODY CONSTANTLY!!
Later found out that the thief charged $1,300.00 for jewelry on my card. Lolol I never would have spent that much for myself!!! 😱😱 (credit card company removed the charge from my account because I had called their toll free number immediately & reported the theft when we returned to the hotel. Phew.

  9. The water tight bag is a great idea. We have used it in pools and the ocean, attached to our wrist like a bracelet. We have one we bought in the Royal gift shop and another from home.

  10. I’ve heard people will also put their items buried in a hole under their towel or beach chair. In a bag safe for burying in the sand of course.

  11. Anyone cruising this feb out of galveston tx on adventure of the seas Sail date Feb 11th with young kids? Wouldn't mind hanging out with another family cruising.

  12. Like you, like heat but not a SUN WORSHIPER. 🕶🕶🕶
QUESTION: DIRECT SUNLIGHT – Matt, do you have a video: Best places on each/some ships for shade.
DESTINATIONS: Which direction/destination/port/starboard does the sun shine more or less on the balconies, morning or afternoon. I prefer morning sun because it goes away for the rest of the day. 😀

  13. A great piece of advice from a pro photographer is do not keep expensive gear in breanded camera bags. Cameras are the most commonly stolen things at airports. Thieves look for the Nikon, Canon, Sony logos. Get a Case Logic /Amazon Basics case. They're just as good and thieves will generally leave those and go for the known commodity.

  14. We bought the waterproof phone cases and put our Sea pass, ID and cash (if we bring any ashore) in with our phones. They stay around our necks.

  15. 4:19 Thanks Matt. The portable safe pictured certainly looks the business, but may also attract unwanted attention. Just bought a FlexSafe soft pouch. "Water, slash and RFID resistant". Great tip!

  16. I wear Tilley pants. All the pockets (even the inside ones) close with Velcro.
    You ain't gettin' in.

  17. Hi Matt how are you doing how can you ask people from your boat to watch your personal belongings while you go in the water ok sure they may be fellow Royal Caribbean passengers however they are still strangers regardless they aren’t even friends they are acquaintances that you may have passed by on the bus or on the boat at least that was the example you supplied in this video

  18. How do the Coco Cay lockers work? Do you have to pay to use them? Do you pick the combination or do you get a key to carry?

  19. When at the beach: Put your valuables in your shoes near your beach towel! Wallet, phone & wallet. No one will ever look in a shoe. 🙂
