ORCのATRで以前は対馬に行きましたが、今回は壱岐に向かいました！元々は Dash 8-200 (JA803B) に乗る予定でしたが、飛行機に不具合が発生して、代わりに JA20RCに乗りました。この機体は７月の最初ぐらいに、エアバスの工場から長崎に到着したばかりの機体です。ORCの初号機のATR (JA10RC) は、五島福江に飛ぶ準備をしていて使えないです。JA20RCは２０２３年の秋ぐらいから飛ぶ予定でしたが、もし Dash 8-200がトラブルで飛べれなかったら、代わりに２号機が飛ぶそうです。(Flightradar24を見たら、毎日飛んでいないです。) 壱岐へのフライトは短いですが、スムーズでした。座席は一番前の非常出口がある座席で、すぐ横にはプロペラです。壱岐に着いたら、戻るフライトは約３０分あるので、空港の展望デッキに行きました。長崎空港と比べ、壱岐の方はフェンスで覆われていて、フェンスの幅が小さくてカメラ用の隙間はないので、デジタルカメラ、ビデオカメラなどの大きいレンズのカメラで撮るのはフェンスの上からじゃないとフェンスの一部が映ってしまいます。スマートフォンのカメラは問題なさそうです。ORCは毎日壱岐へ２回しか飛ばないので壱岐はかなり小さい空港です。長くなりましたが、搭乗記をぜひ楽しんでください！

Following the flight to Tsushima, this time, I will be doing a trip report to the island of Iki and back to Nagasaki onboard ORC! Originally, my flight to Iki was originally a Dash 8-200 registered (JA803B). However, some kind of trouble was discovered on the aircraft and the plane was swapped to the ATR 42-600. The ATR 42-600 I rode was ORC’S second ATR aircraft, which was registered JA20RC. This aircraft was delivered to ORC on the start of July. The first aircraft (JA10RC) was already in use as it was preparing its scheduled flight to the island of Goto-Fukue. JA20RC was scheduled to enter service in the autumn of 2023. However, it seems that if the Dash 8-200 breaks down, this aircraft is used as a replacement. (Looking at Flightradar24, it does not fly every day.) Anyways, the flight to Iki was very short but very smooth. My seat was at the front which was also the location of the emergency exit. Once I’ve arrived at Iki, there was still 30 minutes before the flight back so I went to the airport’s observation deck. Nagasaki’s observation deck has a straight wire which makes it convenient for people with digital cameras and video cameras. Iki however, has one large fence with making it rather difficult for aircraft spotters. The only way to get a clear shot of the aircraft is over the fence. ORC flies to Iki only twice a day and the airport is very small. Apart from vending machines, there are no duty free shops at the airport. *Update: On August 2, JA20RC’s cargo door was accidently damaged by a luggage truck at Goto-Fukue Airport and is undergoing repairs. (It cannot fly to Nagasaki until it is repaired.)
