Japanese Izakaya, known as drinking restaurants are a huge part of Japanese social culture. Intended for groups of people to gather and drink while eating small Japan food dishes together and often there’s way too many menu items to choose from so I’m here to guide you through it as it can be intimidating for first Japan travelers and Tokyo travelers. Also, I’m going to show you how to do it on a budget as I’ll introduce cheap Japanese food that you can try for yourself. And what better to show you the ins and outs than at Teketeke in Tokyo Shibuya as they have all the goodies for a Chicken and Yakitori Izakaya restaurant. I’m gonna share with you some of the more popular Japanese food dishes and my food recommendations so you know what to order cheaply when you visit Japan. This is a Japan food tour at a Japanese chicken izakaya.

Paoulo I love the videos. But please stop trying to include trendy language like “eskeddit”, it sounds forced isn’t necessary my man. Your content is interesting enough! No need to overdo it. Good video
Yes lets visit a restaurant named after a youkai.
Can’t wait to get our hot sauce!
I have been a subscriber since this channel's first couple of Japanese travel related videos and everything Paolo has uploaded has been very helpful for the 5x I have been to Japan.
Can you pls do a content on solo traveler friendly places and establishments/restos in Japan? Also with Izakaya, I have never tried it once as it is known as drinking place with friends and 4/5 I always travel alone (plus I have alcohol allergy huhu).
Though I am aware Japan is pretty good for solo travelers, I am just curious if there's other things I can do on my next visit.
Thanks Paolo.

Hey Paolo, you guys should do some vids on japanese barbers. I see alot of people finding success showcasing eastern barbershops and the unique experience they offer.
say umami one more time, i dare you sir. Fucking learn at least one more word to describe taste
Where to buy cheap sneakers in Tokyo next?
Chicken Nanban for the Win 👍😆
and everything was great until this dude started selling his hot sauce that is not even available
paolo what other days of a life are you going to do can you do a police one
@paolofromTokyo. Could you do a day in the life of a Patagonia employee in Japan!? I would love to see if the company norms (Patagonia way of life) impact the Japanese salaryman norms or business norms. Please and thank you! If you need an in, please email me – I can definitely make that happen!
JNJ! – JAPAN NEEDS JESUS! Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world! He is Logos, the Correct Order of the universe! Japan needs to follow the Correct Order – Marriage at early ages of 18 – 25. Families need to have children, at least two, or more. Sexual relations only in marriage. Japan is dying. Marriage is very low. Births are very low. Young Japanese rise up! Free yourselves from incorrect order! Stop promiscuity! Return to old, Japanese traditions of early marriage and having children! And try to go to a Christian church. Talk to a church leader (minister). Christianity is not scary. Enter the life of Jesus! (My Chinese wife and I – I am a Caucasian American male – soon will celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We pray for Japan. We are Catholics.) JNJ! – JAPAN NEEDS JESUS! SEND THIS MESSAGE TO ALL OF JAPAN!
My hot sauce is just arrived good sir, time to have them on some eggs and embrace spicy mouth today and spicy butt tomorrow
Are the Japanese such perfectionists and self shaming because they got their asses blown away in WW2 and they can't live it down?
Hi Paolo, really enjoy your videos. I'm Japanese American and sometimes like to read the Japanese subtexts, but I was wondering, is there a reason why the formality of the Japanese is so casual? Is this intentional? Just wanted to let you know. The way you speak English is casual but not as casual as your subtitles.
will you do anything with sumo wrestlers??
mmmm dat A** tho
Even the Japanese have the Indian type "chakna" side dishes that go well with alcohol but our selection is limited to snacks items (chips , mixture packets, pakodas , samosas , veg manchurian in veg & in nonveg fast foods like chicken manchurian , fried chilli chicken etc .
But we don't have Shops dedicated to drink & food .
We just ordered all of those food mentioned above & have a drink n food party at home or some friend's rented place
Perfect video but i think u should be a food critic ur good at it n plus never get fat 😂😂😂😂😂
Ordered your hot sauce on July 15 and it still has not arrived.
Any recommendations for non alcoholic drinks in izikayas?
How many different types of Izakayas are there? Is there such a thing as a "Seafood Izakaya"?
Schade das ich nicht probieren darf 😭😭😭😭
HA!- The Pope's Nose, that's really funny. I eat the tail piece when I buy whole birds and they're really good. They are soft and have a good amount of fat on them. The oysters on the back though are the best piece of meat on pretty much any bird. Super soft and succulent- it's like the filet mignon piece on most birds. Great vid as always= glad I found you.
i'm hoping to visit Japan next year and would love for you to show more types of Izakaya's.
Been fans for a while so there was no way we couldnt order your hot sauce. We just got it and its definitely fire! We were shocked with how spicy it was as we struggle to find ones that are actually spicy! So glad we ordered 2 bottles!
