In this Indonesia Travel Vlog, I set out to explore Yogyakarta by myself! Yogyakarta is the culture capital of Java. It’s home to two famous UNESCO temples: Borobudur Temple and Prambanan Temple. It’s also the only place in Indonesia that’s still ruled by a sultan! I start off by walking down the famous Malioboro Street. It wasn’t too busy during the daytime, but this street comes alive at night!! (You’ll see that at the end of the video). I follow Malioboro down to Titik Nol zero kilometer marker. I decided to grab a coffee in the cute Kilometer Zero Coffee shop. Then I continued on to the Palace of Yogyakarta. There wasn’t too much information at the Yogyakarta Palace. It seems like you need a guide to learn anything about the palace. But it was still fun to walk around and see! When I was leaving the palace, there were some ‘guides’ at the back who were offering to take me to where they make the puppets. I was finished with the palace so I followed the one man down to the puppet workshop (wayang) where they were making puppets. I’m still not sure if this was legit or if it was a scam, but I just looked around quickly and left. From there it was a short walk to the Water Palace aka Taman Sari. The Water Palace is gorgeous!!! I think it’s the best picture spot in all of Yogyakarta!!! Again, there wasn’t a lot of information without a guide, but it was so nice to walk around and look at! I’d also heard that there’s a really cool underground mosque there, but they said it was closed.
After Taman Sari, I walked by Alun Alun Kidul – another huge park that had no one during the day, but is CRAZY BUSY at night (again you’ll see this at the end of the video). Alun Alun Kidul is right next to the Plengkung Gading gate. According to google maps, you should be able to walk up on top of the gate…..but when I got there it was closed! Instead I had to walk under it to get to the other side. It was another 15 minute walk from the gate to the hipster street of Prawirotaman, but the walk was so fun because I could wander through all of Yogyakarta’s little graffiti covered alleys (which I LOVE)! I arrived at Prawirotaman and you could instantly see that it’s the place for backpackers in Yogyakarta. The street was lined with cute cafes, hostels, and bars. It was the first place I saw alcohol for sale in Yogyakarta! I grabbed a great lunch at Via Via Jogja Cafe – so good. Then continued to wander around the little graffiti alleys. I still had a while before sunset so I grabbed a beer at one of the many bars to wait. Once it was getting dark, I took my first becak from Prawirotaman Street back to Alun Alun Kidul and I was AMAZED!!! Alun Alun Kidul was not even recognizable as the park I saw earlier in the day due to all the people!!!! It was SO busy and there were so many amazing cars covered in lights going around the square! The cars are converted into bicycles underneath, so you need to pedal to move them. They were so fun! I wanted to take one of the cars myself, but I wasn’t sure how it would be for just one person…after waiting a while I decided against it and got another becak up to Malioboro Street. Malioboro Street was also completely different at night! It was sooo busy!!! Yogyakarta has amazing vibes at nighttime! It was so much fun!

Smoga betah& bahagia di indonesia..
That narrow alley covered in graffiti is where my small backpacker hotel is located! Our friend and I have hotels specifically designed for foreign backpackers, providing them with a more authentic local experience by living among the local residents. Oh, and remember to stay safe when crossing the roads!
Thank you for traveling to Indonesia🇮🇩😊 ,,

Natalie visited Malioboro street in Yogyakarta, while "the
Lost Boys" (Rob, Cheyne & Antonio) traveled to Marlborough Fort in Bengkulu last month…I believe that traveling broadens our minds & perspectives… Is the word "Malioboro" was originally from "Marlborough" ? Hahaha sorry just kidding..😊😊 Thanks a lot for visiting this tropical country, guys !. Take care , stay healthy & safe. Enjoy your beautiful weekend & c.u…
Selamat menikmati perjalanan anda😁
you can go to the Prambanan Temple at night, there is Ramayana Theater there. Or you should go to the Tourist Information at Jalan Malioboro, to get pamphlet about many events in Yogyakarta
In indonesia natal its mean Merry Christmas
Ahh seeing this vlog remember me a-lot the good time when I was a student university . Yogyakarta is home to a large student population and dozens of schools and universities. I lived like 4 years there. Anyway new subscribers here loves your vlog , hope carles GWS.
I suggest you to go to south yogyakarta which is gunung kidul. They have a lot of blue and clean beaches and mostly not crowded beaches. And some beach u can set a camping tent

Yogyakarta memang buat betah saat kita kunjungi 😊
Next, gunung kidul yogyakarta, karimun jawa
Slight explanation in the past traditional Indonesian city like jogja was build around alun-alun (central lawn), notable city without it is Jakarta which have a town square in kota tua (Batavia), and maybe Monas.
where is the spanish guy ? Did you guys break up ?
He said Merry Christmas because Christmas in Indonesia means NATAL, according to your name Natalie 😊
banyak sekali yang du kunjungi terasa di bawa jalan jalan
Wow jogja, its been long time i visit jogja, you should try kopi arang or kopi joss, its signature from jogja
When you first enter and see a large antique. It's called GAMELAN, it's a traditional Javanese musical instrument
This kingdom was the one who conect Java Island with Europe,The Netherlands
I suggest never going for a walk past 10pm let alone alone…
prone to crime…
especially if you often walk through alleys / narrow streets…
if there are people who force their will but you don't want to and they keep pushing everywhere while in Indonesia, please record it so that we will take care of it, people regret it because they have become parasites in tourist attractions…
vice versa foreign tourists who come to Indonesia continue to make problems we will kick / deport …
thank you👍
