Recently, we have been hearing more and more about war.
This time, we visited Higashi-Yamato Minami Park, a park that still bears the scars of the war.
Higashi-Yamato Minami Park is located in Higashi-Yamato City, Tokyo.
The park still bears the scars of gunfire from World War II.
It features an electrical substation that has been preserved as it was in those days as a symbol of hope for peace.
Currently, the park is open to the public as an athletic park and a place where people gather.
In the past, the park was used as a base for the U.S. military in Japan.
The substation, with a 7.62mm bullet hole in the center, is open to the public by day and exhibits materials from that time.
On that day, there were many people enjoying Pokemon Go, an application for smartphones, which made me feel a sense of peace.
If you have a chance, please visit.
