(Scroll down for links to the routes, time stamps, and more details!) We were in Nagano Prefecture for a hill climb road cycling race up Mt. Ontake (御嶽山). While we were in the area, we got to explore the beautiful turquoise Atera River and Kiso Valley (木曽路), the halfway point on the Nakasendo (中山道 ). We also stayed at an onsen ryokan that is part of the “Japan Association of Secluded Hot Spring Inns”, a not-so-secret onsen society! Zeb was able to get some stunning drone shots, and we couldn’t believe how pretty the mountains were on this route.

Hey Annie, I have been watching your cycling stuff from Australia and it is good stuff! Simple, respectful, no politics, and in a world where there is lots of nonsense, good to see people just being nice. Thanks mate.
