We love a good day trip! Even more so when it’s by train. Today we finally got to try South Korea’s bullet train, also known as KTX. We traveled a loooong 414 km from Seoul to Busan, which not only felt like a breeze since it was so fast… but also because we upgraded to first class! We’re tucking into some seriously good Korean food along the way and getting our fill of the fantastic views whizzing past us. Join us for the ride and enjoy a taste of Korea!

  1. There's no ticket check in and out machine at the entrancei or exit of platform but a train conductor walk around
watching his monitor only. The fares of train, subway, city buses and local taxis are twice cheaper than those of Japan
because of financial assistence from government or local cities. (bus and taxis belong to private companies)
For your information, the annual pay of average Korean workers became around 7~10% higher than workers of Japan in 2020~2023.

  2. These KTX trains are like the French TGV trains because there were initially built under license by the Koreans and they benefited from technology transfer.
The main difference is that the French TGV are very dirty 😂.

  3. I’ll have to check the luggage out, I need a better carry on. Yeah, I agree- train travel is so much better. On planes people are packed in so tight. Love the food bowls with rice underneath. Great idea and looks yummy. Safe travels you two

  4. Amazing food, good train station, reliable service better than uk railways

  5. The calories don't count because you are going so fast is the best thing ever! LOL

  6. It's really fun to watch it!!
By the way, have you ever watched a movie-"Train to Busan"?😁

  7. Korean traditional food is not spicy at all. Chili was rarely used in the Joseon Dynasty. Most of the spicy Korean food was made within 50 years. Kimchi was originally a white radish without pepper. The sauces for bibimbap, bibimmyeon, and tteokbokki were all soy sauce. It is speculated that the reason why pepper was used was because salt was expensive in Korea at the time, so cheap red pepper was used instead. But even now, there are much more non-spicy Korean foods such as seolleongtang, gomtang, seaweed soup, japchae, samgyetang, dakbaeksuk, cold soy bean noodles, Pyeongyang naengmyeon, grilled fish, grain porridge, Tteok, tteokguk, bulgogi, jeon, braised ribs, neobiani. Even now, Korean traditional New Year's Day and ancestral rites do not include chili peppers at all. Foods sold in restaurants or stores tend to be more stimulating than home-cooked meals. If you watch the drama Dae Jang Geum, which is based on the cuisine of the Joseon Dynasty, you will not see any food with chilli in it.

  8. 한국의 오신걸 환영합니다^^
Korea's medical system is accurate, fast and cheap. If you are sick anywhere, don't worry about the cost of treatment and go to the hospital right away.
