I rode the famous JR Kuroshio (くろしお) train from Osaka to Shingu, Wakayama in Japan. Each car, both inside and out, is decorated in a panda theme (including the headrests and even the tsunami safety cards). A relatively small number of the regular Kuroshio service trains feature the panda theme; this was a lucky trip.
On the way, I show you the ticket buying process, where to get food before the journey, the seat and facilities on board, the historical and cultural highlights along the way, and of course, the views over the sunny blue Pacific Ocean. For long stretches, the Kuroshio hugs the actual coast, right over the water.

This was so great, Jeremy! Thanks for taking me (us) along. What's the difference between Western and Eastern hotel rooms? Toilets? Did you get to pet a panda? — charlie, sacramento CA
Another adventure!! Thanks.
Waiting room is full as T1D Wanderer enters. Suddenly waiting room is empty as he sits. 🙂
