After recently becoming first time parents, and our full time travel lifestyle grinding to a halt, we are starting to get restless! In this UK travel vlog, we decide to test out whether it’s possible to travel full time with our 8 week old newborn baby.. by just doing it!
We leave our home in Somerset and head north towards the quintessentially English region of the Cotswolds. Here, we stay in a traditional thatched roof cottage (where we give a full house tour) and explore some of the most picturesque villages in the area.

⭐ About Travel Beans:
Hello and welcome to our channel! We are Alex & Emma, a British couple who have been exploring the world together for over 10 years – from backpacking to vanlife:

2012/13: We both embarked on our own solo backpacking trips through Southeast Asia, where we would eventually meet at a hostel in the mountains of Thailand and begin traveling together. After a year and a half of backpacking around Southeast Asia & Australia, we returned home and to the corporate world!

2015: Travel Beans was born and we filmed our first videos on a road trip around Europe with friends! This was our biggest trip yet.. and you can go back and watch the entire adventure because we filmed ALL of it! This trip took us through Russia, Mongolia & China, on the longest railway journey in the world. Followed by highlights such as staying on a local island in the Maldives for a month, going on safari in Sri Lanka, couchsurfing & hitchhiking in Korea, seeing the snow monkeys in Japan, island hopping in the Philippines, trekking 60km through the centre of Myanmar, exploring the Indian Himalayas, and checking out some of the incredible US National Parks.

2016: Despite an unbelievably memorable year and a half of travels, which we were incredibly grateful to have had the privilege to experience.. we found ourselves in New York City, battling depression. At this point, we decided to go home and confront this problem head-on.

2017: After 6 tough months at home we decided to go away again, but this time with a goal in mind.. to turn travel into a lifestyle. We left the UK with just £500 in our bank account and a dream to make a continuous travel lifestyle happen! We both got online English teaching jobs to be able to fund our travels and to keep creating videos. We can’t quite believe that our younger selves decided to take this plunge but we are so grateful they did as we are still on this journey today!

What now?
Over the years, we’ve discovered that we LOVE road trips and even decided to renovate our very own little VWT4 van into a campervan to be able to enjoy vanlife and spend more time on the road. We are now the proud owners of 2 awesome little campers – one based in the UK and one that we keep in the USA. You’ll often find us using one of these vans to explore Europe and North America. If you enjoy this kind of content we’d recommend checking out our Italy Road Trip series, USA vanlife series and our Japan in a Tiny Van series as well as our UK vanlife content.

Our time spent overcoming depression has influenced our outlook on life dramatically! We are now traveling the world in search of what makes us happy. We love sharing the highs and lows of our trips through our videos and hope to spread a little positivity and light to all of the beautiful people who take the time to tune in and watch each week!

  1. Brum might have lived in the museum, but it was set around Birmingham (Brum!) – Occasionally saw it being filmed around the Birmingham Uni campus back in the day, and was just as excited as Alex!

  2. I know that pun was directed at me, he is your child you have the right to choose but remember you have to care for the child after, it is so hard , as for the health visitor they just deny everything it's all about money do you know how much money they make for each child, I'm angry because my health visiter had the same name as me, It is hard when you know your child was normal. they just cover there backs. they need sick children thats what keeps the money coming in if everyone was healthy they would be out of a job.

  3. I love Bourton-On-The-Water! Took my kids to that museum to see Brum in 2003 (we are Australian and we watched his show so he was big enough to make it here). They loved seeing him in the museum. I love the village itself. Went back again in 2015. Stayed at the pub overnight. Would love to go back one day. My favourite place in England.

  4. Maintain your sense of humor…..its the only way to get through parenthood! Believe me, you will look back and mostly laugh and laugh…..

  5. Thanks for sharing another journey with your "little man." My wife and I visited England and the Cotswolds in May, 1984 as our last "blow-out" trip together before starting our family. In March of 1985, our first daughter was born. Interesting timing. 😉

  6. Congratulations both, 1 year, I cant believe it! Your hair looks lovely, Suzy. Steve is similar to David, he reads all the comments then tells me to sort them,, blimin men….see you soon or if not definitely at Christmas. Rhian & Dai xxx

  7. I’m going to stop watching your videos from now on. The focus is too much on the baby. Have you considered the implications it has to your child? They can not consent to uploading their images/videos to the internet. Once they grow older and see this complete online persona that their parents created for them they might not be too happy about it. YouTuber and influencer with children really need to have a hard look a themselves about how they sell out the privacy of their children without their consent.

  8. Omg little Noah, gorgeous family, 💖😍😊😅good on you guys for getting out there, l know it's not easy with a newborn xx love from Australia 🦘

  9. Thanks for sharing today. Love the old stone village and greenery. We steamy cook those curly green plants, or ones similar to them. We call them fiddleheads. On place name calling….we our from Pennsylvania, however, we lived in Maine for 17 years. They have an old English accent that was actually are to understand. They also use other words for same things. I know exactly what you mean on how babies bring strangers into your life. We experienced that also when we had our first. Oh, four door vehicles (when you don't have a van) work better for getting in and out!!! LOL Ema–a mini version village of a mini version village!!! I couldn't believe it—there WAS one. When you mentioned getting a kayak—-we do kayak camping….and when our kids were young we could no longer backpack so we did canoe camping. There are all sorts of places in Maine, and New Hampshire, to do that. I don't get it when channel makers ask for us to give them a "BIG FAT THUMBS UP"—I only have one option; YouTube should give us a variety to choose from!

  10. What a cosy little cottage 😊 lovely to see your little adventures with Noah who is growing! Definitely make the most of getting out and about while he is so little….speaking from a mum of two teenagers x

  11. glad to see you back, love your videos but worried about baby Noah outside with no hat to keep his little head and ears warm, when you both have hats on

  12. Take your time, take short trips, stay near easily accessed medical facilities.
We will still watch!Noah looks healthy 👍😎

  13. OMG – Brum – I had a moment LOL (Was born in London, grew up in Australia).
Honestly, I hardly even left the house with a 8 week old so don't push it too hard.
    Take your time, enjoy him.
I know this is your job, and you are working out how to do it now with a third person involved, but these moments are precious and they are gone so quickly.
As he grows and changes, you will adapt to what does and doesn't work now as three people.
This might be just me, but if my partner had disappeared for trips over seas when I had a very little baby, I might never have forgiven him, regardless of it being work, and I would also have been devastated that baby and him missed so many special moments together.
As it is we have so many special moments of him and our daughters playing and hanging out together during the day or evening. (We also had irregular hours for working)
I'm sure you will work it out, and do wonderfully.

  14. There was a rumour when my husband and I were students at Loughborough Uni that a Canadian student turned up thinking it was pronounced Lugaborugah. No offence to Canadians!

  15. The worst place to visit in the uk could be Jay wick on sea as I seen a programme on it once and thought that’s probably the worst sea side town to visit! However I’m yet again on a little visit on isle of Wight in my camper van and I do think it’s about time you guys done a trip to the island and not forgetting to visit Bembridge where there is a lovely little van life community in a place called Forelands the view across the Solent is amazing and your only a few feet from a lovely beach your next to Bembridge harbour the is some house boats along the coastal rd and a beautiful little village. Also how beautiful your little fella is and now a van life family I love all your content and always recommend people watch your Chanel as your content is so real ups & downs!! Keep your videos coming guys we all love THE BEAN FAMILY 😊

  16. You are so right. Might as well travel. Same thing will happen no matter where you are. And it gets harder with toddlers.
