It’s a sad day in the Port of Nagasaki, as a harbor pilot there fell into the water & died while boarding the Diamond Princess Cruise Ship.

Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas is scheduled to undergo sea trials next month. Marking the final phase before the ship is handed over to Royal Caribbean.

Passengers on the Norwegian Gem are upset over the last-minute cancellation of the port of Venice in Italy.

A Chicago man was out $11,000 after canceling his Viking cruise.

  1. Is there something wrong with YouTube? This didn't show up until after 6pm. And where was Friday's full video? I was expecting the full story about the MSC inspection.

  2. Went to Aruba 2 times on a cruise. Would love to go there at an All inclusive so I could see more and more importantly, spend time with a friend who lives there 🥰

  3. It should be considered completely unacceptable the way the Diamond Princess was designed especially being a fairly new cruise ship. More thought process should have been put into accommodating Harbor Pilots to be able to board the vessel without complications. I think the overall best design of cruise ship when it comes to matters like this is that of the celebrity Edge with its cantilevering exterior elevator that can go all the way to the water's surface to make it much easier to embark or disembark especially when it comes to taking on a harbor pilot. For some reason when they chose to design the Diamond Princess they put the access door Way High with no real formidable ladder structure. Instead it's done in the 1920s Style with ropes. I can only hope after this horrible tragedy that Princess Cruise Lines has learned something and will make every effort to redesign their ships to make them safer to accommodate Harbor pilots and emergency evacuation of passengers. Because if a true emergency should happened there could be even more tragedy. With the current design.

  4. The cruise line didn’t make him “whole”. His going to the media is the ONLY reason he got his money back. How many folks are fortunate enough to get media attention when things like this happen. I understand ports can be cancelled, and don’t expect anything if it happens during the sailing.

But when they are cancelled ahead of a sailing Cruise Lines should be REQUIRED to give people the ability to cancel for a full refund! If I booked a cruise to Venice, I’d be PISSED if it was cancelled. It’d be like me booking a trip to Orlando, but it’s changed to Gainsvillle and I have to suck it up and go or risk lose my money.

  5. Diamond Princess didn't claim a life. The man boarding had an accident.
