Hiroshima is a very important place to visit in Japan. Most people know that it was here that the first atomic bomb was dropped in WWII creating unimaginable devastation. Decades later, Hiroshima has now rebuilt and become a beacon of hope and education towards abolishing nuclear weapons. While of course the main reason to visit this city is to pay your respects to the victims of this tragedy and visit all the exhibits of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, there is also many other things to see and do. Join me as I tour around the city seeing some of the other attractions on offer, tasting some amazing local food and seeing how Hiroshima has transformed since the last time I was here! xx

It's a very meaningful bomb for Koreans.
Because of this lovely bomb, Korea was freed from Japan's colonial rule. I wish there were a few more bombs.. It's always a shame.
One thing that I love about Alina Mcleod is how she does NOT deliberately/purposefully "whitewash" or racially stereotype/humilate other cultures! This makes her the perfect diplomat/ambassador! Culture sensitivity is very important to me, and I mentioned before very few people has this impeccable skill!

Wondering….Is there a memorial for the millions and I mean millions of non-Japanese Asian civilians that Imperial Japan killed in the 1930s and 40's? Hmmm. 🤔
What we told ourselves was the continuation of the Pacific War was unacceptable and the invasion of the Japanese home islands would pose even far greater costs and more human suffering. There were no good options, only the least of bad options and at the time no one knew the devastation nuclear weapons could inflict. Their use ended one of the most devastating wars in human history and I’m not a fan of their use today or in the future. I will say though back then it was the right and the moral decision to deploy/ them, not to kill people but to terminate a war.

So much time and labour was dedicated to finding if they could build a bomb like this and not much time deciding if they should build it, the final decision was not in the hands of scientists to use it, sadly the world still lives with the consequences of military technology and war atrocities ✌️♥️🇬🇧 hopefully never again
