Setoya – Ōmagatoki / 逢魔時 / 藤枝市瀬戸谷をシネマティックに撮影しました / Collaboration with ”Goodbyes Are Emotion”

From Ryan:

I currently feel highly inspired to create music that fits a specific time of day; the time of twilight to the time of night. I was reading the manga Noragami and came across this interaction between Yato and Yukine:

Yato: “Wow. Talk about Red. You like Sunsets Yukine?” Yukine says: “…I hate them.” Yato then says: “Good Answer. Twilight is the dividing line between day and night. It’s when beings of this world go inside to hide from the darkness and beings of other world come out to play, blending in with the darkness. Men of the past called it Ōmagatoki…”

I love this idea of our physical realm coming into contact with the Yōkai, Ayakashi and other spirits and demons. I will continue to explore more of these feelings as our second collaboration project continues.

私たちの物理的な領域が妖怪、あやかし、その他の精霊や悪魔と接触するというこのアイデアが大好きです。 私たちの2番目のコラボレーションプロジェクトが続くにつれて、私はこれらの感情をさらに探求し続けます.

私とRyanのコラボレーションプロジェクト「逢魔時」の３作目を撮影しました！
Ryanは日本の「ノラガミ」という漫画を読み、これにインスパイアされてこの曲を作成しました。「黄昏時の夕方から夜にかけて妖怪や魔物が出てくるような状態をイメージしてこの曲を作った」とのことで、これを日本語で「逢魔時」と言うそうです。今回もこのイメージに合う場所と時間帯を選び今回の撮影を行いました。
この場所は日本の静岡県藤枝市にある小さな町です。動画の中に出てくる中学校は全校生徒わずか40人ほどしかいないとても小さな学校です。
個人的に小さい時によく来てた場所なので、撮影しながら懐かしさも感じられました。
彼の素晴らしい曲に合わせてどうやって映像を表現するか？と考えるのがとても楽しかったです。いつもありがとう！

Ryan and I shot the third piece for our collaborative project “Ōmagatoki” Ryan was inspired to create this song by reading the Japanese manga “Noragami”. He says, “I wrote this song based on the image of a state in which monsters and demons appear during the twilight hours of evening and night.” We chose a place and time that fit this image for this shoot.

This location is a small town in Fujieda, Shizuoka, Japan. The junior high school in the video is a very small school with only about 40 students in total.

I personally used to visit this place when I was little, so I felt a sense of nostalgia while filming.

I had a lot of fun thinking, “How can I express the images to his wonderful music?” Thank you so much for everything!

    Cinematic shooting is fun! I also like this method of photography. I have tried several times, but it still takes time. It was filmed in Shizuoka. Do you live there? There are so many good things that make for a good movie!
