After three years and an estimated ¥110 billion yen in renovation costs, The Okura Tokyo, previously named Hotel Okura Tokyo, once again opens its doors tomorrow, Sept. 12. Tokyo’s prestigious 1960s icon closed in 2015 to make way for renovations. Having made its mark as an architectural landmark, the new plans caused an uproar of distress through architecture and design circles. However, to the surprise of many, it has managed to keep its traditional Japanese spirit & design intact. 📸: Ryusei Takahashi @ryuseitakahashi217
