This is part 2 to the video uploaded yesterday – an update for people who will travel to Japan in May and onwards! It’s definitely good news that Japan is returning to normal.

Great video Lisa
Great!!! Happy for the people who plan to go to Japan in May. Went through it, wasn't so bad. I see many without masks (yes those with mask on their chins too) in Osaka right now.
Literally landing in Japan on the 9th May. 🙇
Thank you so much for both of these videos!!! So helpful to hear your first hand experiences!!!
I've been waiting to visit Japan till after things clear up, so these 2 updates (and your previous updates over the past several months) have been absolutely wonderful to understand better the situation from someone's who actually there!
I leave on May 8th! So I don’t need to get a test?
It is so sad that the Japanese, and other governments around the world, got people so scared they continue to do things that have been proven to have little to no effect. Japan in particular has held on to this for way too long to give the illusion they are doing "something".
They said in May
😔 I wish it was in April
I hope that travellers take note of the fact that most Japanese people are still wearing masks in crowded places and choose to do the same. Japanese culture is to consider your effect on others. Even though you may prefer not to wear a mask, Japanese people will feel a lot happier if you try to follow what other people are doing, and respect their choices.
Thank you I'm traveling to Japan in July
My wife and I went through all the trouble of getting the "blue" vaccination status on Visit Japan Web weeks ago only to find out that Japan is now scrapping that requirement on the exact same day we arrive lol. Thanks for the info, Lisa!
Is japan definately back to normal or it's just for awhile? Wish i could go there in May this year.
Thanks Lisa. Very informative video.
Let me ask you for the Haruku ( Hello Kitty Shinkansen that runs from Kansai to Kyoto , can we use our JR pass on that train?
only 3 years for 14 days to flatten the curve
I dont think that quarantine fast track is going a way as even before the pandemic there has always been a health card need to be filled out if you go to any other country.
Thank you 🙂
Thank you so much. Your Videos ate grwat amd such a good help 🙂 looking forward to the Kyoto video😊

Even though I am only planning to visit next spring
G’day Lisa. I have a question about the harp. Did you learn to play the harp like other instruments via music sheets or is it a ‘learn by ear’ method? Cheers Ian – Port Macquarie
Thank you for the video! So I guess our family should be fine then if we are flying out from our country of origin on May 7 and arriving in Japan on May 8.
We'll travel to Japan on may 9th! What a relief and thank you for your info (as always)!!!
Very informative! Thanks! How do you obtain the “temporary visitor card” to be stamped on your passport if you are using visit Japan web? In obtaining the JR pass you still have to show the temporary visitor card. Is this still required?
Thank God. I don't have to take the test going there. Good news for me.
Thank you very much for your timely update.
Thank you for this video! Your updates are so useful! I’m visiting in August and this will make preparations so less faffy! I’m triple vaxed but such effort to sort out proof! 😅
I’m arriving in Tokyo exactly on May 8th! I should be good right meaning no test requirement, I would’ve preferred to arrive may 9th to be sure 😂
I just came back from Japan. Went on 28 March, had Japan visit web ready but Immigration line was crazy. Too nearly 3h to get through. Glad scrapping it but the need to find a way to speed up those lines in Narita T1
Wow, this is good news. Because I am about to take 3rd dose on Monday .. I am travelling in India and 2 doses were the minimum requirement but while submitting details in Japan web , we are asked to submit 3rd dose vaccine report as well … So before departure do I have to still have to present negative PCR report? Please shed some information if possible
This is great news…
I will NOT be wearing a mask, never have done and never will. The largest study ever has now taken place and is peer reviewed and it's proven beyond ALL doubt that masks do NOT make any difference to viral spread. If anything they can make it worse as the masks stay on the face all day which means you're breathing in the same bacteria, viruses, mould and fungus ALL DAY long. We NEED TO STOP WEARING. STOP BEING SHEEP AND LISTEN TO THE ACTUAL SCIENCE.
Baseball games in Japan Question – Lisa and others: I am a baseball fan and will be attending games in Tokyo (the Tokyo Dome) and Osaka the second week of May. Just curious as to whether I should be expecting mask wearing at the games? The Tokyo site is a dome; Osaka is not. Thanks.
So if I'm comming to Japan in June and I never been Covid vaccination I still must do the 72h test or not?
Immigration and Custom on Japan Web is the best app ever. It literally took me less than 30 minutes to go through them when I visited Tokyo last month.
Do i need second booster ?
I just came back from Japan a few days ago! Although masks are not required, we did only wear our mask when in busy public trains/buses out of respect to the locals.
We’re still visitors in someone else’s country, so we tried to show a little respect. Learn a little Japanese too (how to say “thank you”). It goes a long way!
Good news for Japan and its tourists.
