Who are Kara and Nate?!
Watch our documentary here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuFv4iF8wgg&t=1s

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.

We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted 😉

So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.

Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.

4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to 😉 Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time.

After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time traveling! And now we are finding the best adventures the world has to offer 🙂

We are incredibly grateful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎 Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey!

  1. You guys cracked me up several times. ("Sailing LaVagabond" showed a short clip of monkeys descending on the family on the beach near Phukit. Two kids being defended by Dad.)

  2. I think you saw a Serow. The goat/ deer animal. We saw one when we were in Japan recently. He was just sitting casually outside our dining area window staring in at us 😂😂😂

  3. Monkeys willingly get wet in india tungareshwar temple as well so Japan is not the only place in the world….😅😅

  4. Sorry to burst your bubble Nate , not all Monkeys hate water. They love jumping out of trees into the water. Love the Snow Monkeys !!

  5. Can some of the money be donated to the disasters occurred in Puerto Rico? A trip is good as weve all been through stuff but feel helping is better in combo

  6. Good ending. Craving chocolate, balance magnesium and calcium . The caffeine will increase messing with your hormones and whole system balance.

  7. Hi guys, there is monkeys in Bali Indonesia that bath every day, and they love the water in a Town of ubok you can go and watch them for free at monkey forest 2 The babies have fun jumping in an out of the water , Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia from the big island

  8. STOP: idk if it's the camera work or the editing or just the magic of the moment, but those hot spring monkey shots were 100% Nat Geo level beautiful. I loved every second, and it was so so so worth it to wait. Thanks you both.

  9. I love how the quality of Japanese trains are rewiring the American brains to being based and trainpilled. Yes! Highspeed train over domestic flights. Absolutely! Train is literally the best mode of transportation. Not just in Japan.

  10. Kara and Nate you make me smile😃- that looked like a far drop walking to the monkeys and icy too….the whole shoe thing was hilarious. The monkeys were awesome, some of them felt like they were enlighten monks….as they looked like they were contemplating the depth of existence. Thank you!

  11. I went to go see the snow monkies in 2018 at the beginning of the season. We were told they probably wouldn’t be there but we were in Japan so we just HAD to try. We got up super early and rode a really long train ride, and I sat there for like 3 hours waiting for monkeys and there were none 😢. I need to go back!

  12. There is talks of a bullet train between my city and the capitol of Alberta here in Canada. Would drop at least 2 hours maybe more.

  13. Loved seeing the snow monkeys just chilling, gorgeous quality video work.
Agree with Nate, 11:02 is a most beautiful train shot. 😍🚆

  14. Gee. Did you do any research? You need to in Japan. Tatami mats are meant to be treated with respect. Glad you didn't rip them. The best ones last for 50 years, cheaper ones, 25.

  15. Thanks again for a cool video again loved every minute,,,I’ve been following you since the start by the way,,peace and happiness

  16. The 15 dollars lost is definately 15 dollars invested in less hassle as you mentioned Nate. Was surprised how "cheap" it was.
