After visiting the Little Guyana neighborhood in New York back in 2021, I returned in February of 2023 to experience more of its incredible cuisine!

Little Guyana is a neighborhood in New York City that’s home to many people of Caribbean descent, from Guyana to Suriname to Trinidad and Tobago. The people there have brought the cuisine from their countries to the neighborhood, so it’s the perfect place to eat authentic Caribbean dishes!

SINGH’S ROTI SHOP AND BAR: Here, I had some fantastic shrimp doubles and pepper roti, as well a Solo soda, some Mauby, a unique seamoss milkshake, and some curry duck!

SYBIL’S: After checking out the kitchens at this popular spot, I tried some cassava pone, black pudding, and a phenomenal pepperpot that blew me away

VEGGIE CASTLE: Here, I got a seamoss & banana smoothie. They also sell lots of vegetarian patties including vegetarian “beef”, jerk plantain, and lentil.

AVENUE BBQ HUT: At this Caribbean barbecue joint, we tried some unreal barbecued lamb, jerk macaroni & cheese, potato salad, and corn soup!

KAIETEUR RESTAURANT: Here, we went to the bar and enjoyed a refreshing Banks Caribbean Lager, the national beer of Guyana.

  1. FIRST have not even been two minutes and the INTRODUCTION editing is exciting, exhilarating and makes me want to stay in the video for hours!!! good job sir hands down!!

  2. David your Trini and Guyanese series was a blast❤!!!
Now, thank you for showing us the inner workings of Singh's and the other Trini/Guyanese food places in Queens. Great vid!!!
    Oh and btw…. It's CURRY DUCK😊🇹🇹❤

  3. My old neighborhood! Lived there 20 years ago before moving to the Bronx, and most certainly the best neighborhood for authentic Guyanese and T&T food. I now live in Brooklyn, and they have a few good spots, but I have to give it to Queens, hands down. Nostalgia.

  4. David I am from Tinidad and the casava pone is made with cassava, coconut, sweet potato and some sugar, a recipe passed down to me by my Mother

  5. Always sip liquids and swish in your mouth to mix with saliva. Never gulp… it will run through you and you won’t get optimal benefit. It also helps with absorption.

  6. Loving this one thanks for sharing very information blessed love to all knowledge is power hopefully everyone pays attention keep up the good work the food is so good to much food but everything is so delicious 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲

  7. 🗽The food at All the restaurant looks Amazing! 😍😋 I will definitely visit Singh's this summer for the shrimp doubles with tamarind and hot pepper sauce. I used to have Doubles Tabanca, I was dreaming about Doubles, crying because I couldn't get Doubles, I was a mess.🗽

  8. Trinidad invented Doubles. It is not a menu from India or Guyana. The chickpea is used internationally but the spices are unique to each culture so what the Indians use are not the same as those used in the Caribbean (Trinidad & Guyana).

  9. Unfourtantely these 2 business is all about COMMERCIAL COOKING SINGHS / SYBILS my opinion NVR TRIED VEGGIE SPOT YET BUT SEAMOSS LOOKS REL TASTY

  10. David! Take your coat and hat off, stay for a while!! Watching you is making me sweat. Definitely got to get some of that food this week ❤

  11. Canadian Guyanese here, gotta say it's really hard to find food that anywhere close to home-cooked flavors. The only place i feel at home and never hesitate to order is restaurants on Liberty Ave. Been going there for 20 years almost every year and it really feels like home every time. Those shots of the streets really takes me back, miss it so much.

  12. Big up Backyard Sounds! That man knows his food just as well as he knows his music!

  13. What a surprise the people in the kitchen are black and the people out front and probably who owns the place are Indian?
