Day 1
D: We’re at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York.
M: Yay! We’re going to take a bus to Boston from here, right?
D: Right.
M: How long will it take to get to Boston?
D: It takes around 4 hours. Our destination is the Boston-South Station.
M: Oh, so it’s like the amount of time it took us to go from Hamamatsu City to Shinjuku in Tokyo.
D: Wow, you have a great memory, Maple.
M: That 4 hour-ride was a piece of cake, so it’ll definitely be no problem this time for me.
D: Let me get a cup of coffee here, and then let’s head to the bus station.
M: Sure.
M: This is a huge bus terminal. It’s like a maze.
D: Yep, but the signs are nice and clear. Let’s find Gate 69.
M: Okay.
D: We’re here.
M: “Peter Pan”?
D: Ya, it’s the name of the bus company.
M: It sounds like it’ll take us to Neverland, aka the world of dreams.
D: It sure does.
D: Look. That’s the Hudson River.
When we were in New Jersey, we saw a great view of New York City from across this river, remember?
M: Yes, from the hotel in Hoboken, right?
D: Correct.
Now, we’re seeing New Jersey from the New York side.
M: Interesting.
D: I have a friend in Boston, so we’re going to stay at his place for 2 nights.
We’re arriving there at night and then we have to leave early in the morning in two days.
M: Okay. We only really have one full day to enjoy Boston, then.
D: Don’t worry. It’ll be fun.
D: We’re finally in Boston.
M: Great. I’m a bit tired.
D: My friend will come to pick us up.
He said he’s already made a reservation at an Italian restaurant.
M: Fantastic. I’m so starving.
D: Boston is known for its rich history, its top universities, the baseball team called the Boston Red Sox, the Boston marathon, and its seafood!
M: Awesome. I love seafood!
D: My friend said this Italian restaurant serves a lot of seafood dishes.
M: Sounds good.
M: Everything was really good here!
D: It sure was.
Tomorrow, my friend is going to take us sightseeing.
M: That sounds like so much fun!

Day 2
D: Today, we’re riding the trains. My friend is going to take us to some nice spots.
M: Fantastic.
D: Hey look. Do you remember Dunkin’ Donuts?
M: Oh, yeah.
D: It was actually founded in Boston in 1950.
M: Really? That’s cool.
D: I hear that it’s convenient to have this CharlieCard. It’s like Suica in Japan.
With it, you can take the subway and the bus at a discounted fare.
M: Cool.
D: We’re going to take the Red Line.
The Boston Subway network consists of color-coded subway lines such as the Orange Line, the Blue Line, the Red Line, and the Green Line.
M: It’s so easy to remember the names of the lines.
D: We’re going to get off at the South Station.
D: There are many great sightseeing spots around here.
D: I see lots of buildings made of brick.
M: Ya, this city is very clean and has a rich history.
D: We’re going to visit an aquarium first.
It’s called the New England Aquarium.
It’s in a great location.
It’s in Boston Harbor, right next to the water.
M: Great. I love sea life.

D: Marine animals are so cute and soothing.
M: Your right.
D: Next, my friend is taking us to Quincy Market.
He said it’s really close to here.
M: Quincy Market?
D: Yes, it consists of 3 historic buildings.
Quincy Market opened to the public in 1826.
M: Wow, It seems to be full of all kinds of history.
D: I hear that it has more than 100 stores, artisan pushcarts, restaurants and pubs.
D: We’re here.
M: Cool. It’s fun to even just wander around in this marketplace.
D: True.
D: We’re at Boston Common now.
M: Is this a park?
D: Yep. I hear that this is America’s oldest park, founded in 1634.
M: It’s a very beautiful park.
D: This park continues to be a place that allows free speech and public assembly, so it is said that famous figures have come for some celebrations and events.
M: There are a lot of people visiting this park and just hanging out.
D: Ya, it’s located right downtown, so I think it’s really iconic.
M: Look. A squirrel.
D: It’s so cute.
D: We still have some time until our dinner reservation, so we’re going to take the Green Line to the Boston Museum of Science.
M: Nice.
D: We don’t have enough time today, but there’s a planetarium here and a domed IMAX theater.
M: Oh, I wish we had more time in Boston.
D: It’s time for dinner.
M: Great. I’m so hungry.
M: Union Oyster House?
D: That’s right. My friend said this restaurant serves fabulous seafood.
M: Sounds great.
