鹿児島県 忠元公園の桜 ＆ 曽木の滝と桜 / Cherry Blossoms at Tadamoto Park and Sogi Falls ( Kagoshima, Japan )【日本の桜名所】

忠元公園（ただもとこうえん）は、鹿児島県北部の伊佐市にある都市公園で、桜の名所として知られており、「日本さくら名所100選」に選定されています。公園の中央にあるグランドを桜並木が囲んでおり、長さは2km、約1,000本の桜が植えられています。
また桜の見頃になると千数百個の提灯が燈り、幻想的な夜桜の観賞も楽しめます

忠元の名は、武将であった新納武蔵守忠元（にいろ むさしのかみ ただもと）に由来し、公園内には、その忠元を祀る忠元神社もあります。2列の並木が芝生の上に「桜のトンネル」を作り、その下を歩きながら一周できます。

曽木の滝は、鹿児島県北部を流れる川内川（せんだいがわ）にかかり、滝幅210ｍ、落差12ｍのスケールの大きな滝です。曽木の滝は「東洋のナイアガラ」とも呼ばれ、「平成百景」でも上位に選ばれるなど人気が高く、一帯は自然公園として整備されています。秋には紅葉名所としても有名で、「日本の紅葉百選」にも選定されています。

千畳岩の岩肌を流れ落ちる水流とその轟音は、訪れる人々を釘付けにするほど迫力があります。
まさに大地を割って流れ落ちるような豪快な滝です。
ちなみに、曽木の滝は桜と共に眺めることもでき、春のお花見スポットとしてもオススメです。

Tadamoto Park is located in the northern part of Kagoshima Prefecture and has been selected as one of Japan’s top 100 cherry blossom sites.In the center of the park, a row of cherry blossom trees surrounds the ground, which is 2 km long and has about 1,000 cherry trees.
When the cherry blossoms are at their peak, more than 1,000 lanterns are lit, making for a fantastic nighttime view of the cherry blossoms.

Tadamoto’s name is derived from the warlord Tadamoto Niiro Musashinokami, and there is also Tadamoto Shrine in the park, which is dedicated to him.
Two rows of trees make a “cherry blossom tunnel” on the lawn, and you can walk underneath the tunnel as you go around the park.

Sogi Falls is a large scale waterfall with a width of 210 meters and a drop of 12 meters, which spans the Sendai River running through the northern part of Kagoshima Prefecture. Sogi Falls is also called the “Niagara of the East,” and has been selected as one of the top 100 scenic spots in Japan. The area is also famous for its autumn leaves and has been selected as one of the top 100 places to view autumn leaves in Japan.

The roaring sound of the water flowing down the surface of the rocks of Senjoiwa is so powerful that it draws the attention of visitors.
It is truly a dynamic waterfall that seems to break the earth and flow down.

Incidentally, Sogi Falls can also be viewed with cherry blossoms, making it a good spot for cherry blossom viewing in spring.
