D: The day to leave Japan for the US is finally here!
M: I’m so excited! It’s been a while since I last passed through Hamamatsu station.
D: Yeah, we’re going to take a bullet train to Shinagawa and then transfer to the Narita Express train that’ll take us to the Narita Airport.
M: I can’t wait.
D: I always like walking by the vehicles and musical instruments made in Hamamatsu that are on display right after the ticket gate.
M: Wow, what a nice piano sound.
D: Yes, sometimes really good pianists come and play it.
Isn’t this KAWAI piano gorgeous?
M: Absolutely. And the sound really is amazing.
D: These are SUZUKI vehicles.
M: Yeah, they’re so cool.
D: Ok, we’re about to board the bullet train to Shinagawa.
M: Yay!
D: Here it comes!
M: Wow, it’s really fast!
D: We’re at the Narita International Airport now.
M: I can’t believe that I’m at the airport.
D: International departures is on the 4th floor.
M: Gotcha.
D: We’re flying on United Airlines.
M: That’s a cool name.
D: First, let’s check in and check our luggage and then we have to go through security and immigration.
M: Wow, we have a lot to do.
D: Yep, that’s why we need to be at the airport at least 2 hours prior to the departure time.
M: I see.
D: We need to head to boarding Gate 37.
M: Okay. Let’s go.
D: Hey, look. That is our plane.
M: Oh, wow. It’s spectacular!
D: Let’s board the plane.
M: OK.
D: We’re on the runway now.
It’s finally taking off.
M: I’m so excited and nervous at the same time.
M: We’re flying.
It’s my first time flying. It‘s so cool.
D: Have a pleasant flight.
After around 13 hours
D: We’re landing at the Newark Liberty International Airport.
M: Houses and streets look like miniatures.
I feel like I’m in a dream now. I can hardly believe that I’m in the US.
D: We have to pass through immigration first, though. Are you ready?
M: Oh, OK. I’m so nervous.
D: We practiced the English for that, so I know you’ll be fine.
Do you want to practice a bit more on the way there?
M: Yes, please.
D: What’s the purposed of your visit?
M: Sightseeing.
D: How long will you be staying?
M: For 10 days.
D: Where are you staying?
M: At my friend’s place.
D: Okay. You’re totally ready to go.
M: Thanks for your help, David.
D: We just rented a car, so let’s head to Hoboken first.
It’s pretty late at night, so we’re going to stay there tonight and head to my friend’s place tomorrow.
There is a great view of Manhattan from there.
M: That sounds really exciting!
