真栄原の風俗街は、2009年から2010年にかけて「お取り潰し」にあった。宜野湾市が中心になり、「浄化作戦」という美名の下、その手の店を一掃したのである。百人を超える女性たちが収入源を失い、町はゴーストタウンと化した。
The sex district in Maebaru was “taken down” from 2009 to 2010. The city of Ginowan took the lead in cleaning up the area under the guise of a “cleanup operation. Over a hundred women lost their source of income and the town became a ghost town.
