So last weekend I went out drinking with a couple of friends from about 8pm to 5:30am. Yep, that’s our typical time we spend drinking. Just as well we only do that once every 3 weeks.
Anyway, i thought I’d show a little bit of Japanese night life while I was on my way to the bar.

  1. Excellent video of your views and enjoyments about the nightlife in your area Mark. I'm a night owl, so this video really caught my attention the most with the various locations in your area for sure.

I'm really interested on the Kansai region of Japan…. Kobe, Kyoto, Osaka seems to captured my liking the most and out of the big three in that particular area, Kobe seems to be my top choice at the moment. If I ever do go and visit Japan, it would be Osaka first because of the international airport, then off to Kobe to enjoy that port city Mark.

Thank you as always for sharing your videos bro.

    Anthony..

  2. hi mark, what a fantastic video! I visited Tokyo about 20 years ago and have since then been fascinated by Japanese culture. this reminds me of playing Shenmue on the dreamcast

  3. The sound of jangling coins as you walk reminds me of that classic song: " I got a pocket full of quarters and I'm headed to the AR-cade"

  4. Great video as always! I'm really curious about the conversations, I mean, when you get to order the yakisoba and that kind of stuff just to hear a good japanese dialogue 😀

  5. Surprise video from you, Mark.
Watching you going out and drinking till 5:30.
    Kudos to you.

P.S. this whole video reminds me of the Yakuza games btw.

  6. Great video!! I enjoy the peek into Japanese life! I did get some Yakuza video game flashbacks watching you run around town!!

  7. I expected QTE to pop out here and there. Of, for you, to grab a Coke at around 9.31. 😀
Sweet video, Mark. Thanks for sharing these lovely bits of living in Japan.

  8. That bar looks like my kind of place! I'd love to hit it up and sing old 90's Japanese stuffs 🙂 Maybe I'll hunt it down next time I'm there. Great vid!

  9. Well that was a different kind of video!? Fascinating to see drinking culture in another country though. Not sure if I could cope with all that karaoke though……….would be better with gaming not singing.

  10. your videos are lovely… 😉 one thing i will never understand is why japanese tend to fill the streets with flashy neons and every kind of advertisement (possibily with 1000 colours on it) 🙂

by the way the station area seems the binary domain's bar in the rich area of the town 🙂

  11. Nice video, though I'd never tpuch noodles like that myself, because of the pig flesh.

Really liked the architecture of that train station.

  12. 08:37 I get the impression Mr Brrrrap Man here is a twat when he's sober too…! lol
Awesome video though thanks! Fascinating insight into Japan and a this is such a great channel in general! 🙂

  13. To Retro Core (Mark Smith) = You sure visit really interesting places. I actually planned on visiting Japan sometime around the final week of June of this year. After seeing your game reviews as well as your Life in Japan videos, one thing in my Japan bucket list was to actually meet you in person, as you're one of many inspirations that got me into starting my channel. If I may do so, allow me to share with you one of my most recent game review marathons:

  14. I am watching this again. You have got me hooked on Japan. You are very blessed Mark. You have a beautiful wife and son, a nice house, and a very nice area to live in.

  15. Yo, Mark, have you been to Anaheim, California before? Anaheim is sort of like the mix between Kitakyushu and Shimonoseki. So, have you been to Anaheim?
