Melonkuma is the mascot of the city of Yubari, half melon, half bear, all vicious! He eats Kumamon for breakfast! This is his home and we visited when he’s away – but will catch him next month!

Oh wow I totally want to visit that store! I remember that video where melonkuma attacked you! Was that at the Grand Prix for mascots? Can’t remember the exact name but it is honestly my dream to go to that event and see all of the mascots from all over Japan in one place!

At first I thought it was a Ninja Turtle crossover lol, but the design aesthetic looks cute and cool. I am curious if the Hokkaido bear is the same species as the Siberian bear? considering how close Hokkaido is. On the topic of bears, Leonardo Dicaprio's bear scene in The Revenant was the best CG bear fight scene. 🧸
