Visiting White Island, Camiguin, Philippines at Sunrise by pump boat.

In this video I visited White Island, situated around 1.4 km off the northern coast of Camiguin. White Island, otherwise known as Medan Island is no more than a large sandbar, but is probably the most visited tourist spot in Camiguin. My guest house was a five minute walk to the boat terminal where I was the first to arrive. Pump boats left just after 5.30am when the first boats are able to depart and got there before 5.45am to catch sunrise.

In Camiguin arrivals are expected to register their details and download the Clean Camiguin App for contact tracing purposes. Other islands have dropped their Covid requirements, but the governors of Camiguin are quite strict and slow to relax their entry requirements.

The Philippines should be on everyone’s bucket list with its beautiful white sand beaches, fabulous idyllic islands, turquoise sea and stunning scenery.
