D: Now, we’re headed to Iwata City.
M: Iwata City is located to the east of Hamamatsu City, right?
D: That’s correct.
We’re driving on the Shintenryugawa bridge right now, and after crossing it, we’ll be in Iwata City.
M: Oh, yeah. This is cool. We’re crossing over the Tenryu river.
D: The scenery along here is really nice.
M: And the weather is great today, too.
D: Uh huh, there are no clouds.
It’s going to be fun today.
M: Definitely!
M: So, you said you would take me to a place where we could have afternoon tea, is that right?
D: Yes, according to the website, the restaurant is located in a wedding venue.
M: Really? That’s nice.
D: We’re almost there.
M: Is that the place on the right? I see a cross on the top of the building.
D: Yeah, that would be the chapel.
The GPS seems to be leading us there.
M: Wow, it looks really nice. It looks like a castle.
D: Yeah, it’s beautiful.
D: We’re going to a restaurant called La Luce.
M: There’s a photo studio.
D: There’s a bridal salon, too.
D: We’re here. This is the place.
M: OK. Let’s go in.
D: I already ordered the Afternoon Tea set for us today.
M: Wow, it comes with many desserts and some light meal items, too.
D: Sounds good.
M: We’re supposed to choose our first drink from the menu.
D: What kind of tea do they have? Is there Earl Grey?
M: Yes, there is.
D: Great. I’ll have that.
M: Okay. I’ll have the hot Yuzu tea.
D: Nice.
D: Look at these healthy seasonal vegetables.
M: This chestnut and potato cream soup looks great, too.
D: Look. There are many different desserts on the top and bottom plates.
And there is a chestnut and bacon cheese risotto on the middle plate.
M: Everything looks really good.
D: I really liked the risotto. It’s so tasty.
M: I think so, too. I really enjoyed all the kinds of desserts.
I loved everything, but the tea jelly was especially good.
D: I saw online that there was a nice park near here, so let’s check it out.
M: Sounds great.
D: It’s called Imanoura Park.
M: Wow, it’s a huge park.
D: Yeah, and it looks like there’s an event going on because there are many people in that shelter.
M: Look, there is a playground over there.
D: Yeah. Many children are playing. There are many things to do here.
M: This place is very fun for children like me!
D: I saw that there’s an interesting facility nearby.
Do you want to check it out?
M: Alright.
M: Barn Village?
D: Yes.
I read that it was modeled after Ports O’Call Village in Los Angeles.
M: Oh, yeah? That’s why this place looks like North America.
D: I love this place. I feel like I’m back home.
M: There’re some clothing shops and a knick-knack shop.
D: And there’s a nice cafe over there.
M: Oh, wow. It looks nice.
Today, we already had tea and sweets, so let’s come back here another time for this cafe.
D: Sure.
D: Oh, it’s time to go home.
Let’s walk along the river back to the parking lot.
M: Alright.
D: I feel like going out for authentic Japanese food next time.
M: Wow. That sounds great.
Did you have a restaurant in mind?
D: Yes. Actually, one of my friends took me to a really nice place once.
I remember that everything tasted so good.
M: Great. Let’s go there next time then!
