Hey there, welcome to High5India, thanks for your support and Love.
We shot this video in a remote village of Uttar Pradesh. This is the most authentic and the oldest way of making Rice Puff. The Traditional Stove is made up of Clay.
Dried leaves are collected from the Fruit gardens and are used as a fuel, hence the cheapest source of fuel.
River sand is used to evenly roast every rice in the big bowl.
Other tools like a ‘c’ shaped iron rod used to evenly distribute the heat, A plate with a net is used to filter puffs from the sand.
Rice Puff is one of the oldest food known to Indians and is been enjoyed in all the parts of India.
BHEL-PURI is the most popular dish made from Rice Puff
The best part is it doesn’t perish and stays as long as a year and more if preserved in airtight containers.
Ancient Indians used this as a travel food or snack, they carried this during long journeys…
here’s the video which shows how Rice Puff is made in a most traditional way.

"only 8 seconds" video is 2 minutes long. Fuck you.
WOW! India invented Rice Krispies!
Well, that's one way to do it. Just have to make sure the "river sand" has been washed and cleaned before use and free of organic matter. A wash, dry, and sifting would probably do the trick.
High 5 from Canada.
I paused the video at exactly 8 seconds and didn't see a single rice puff, I want my money back.
Freedom to puff and share rice puff

I had popcorn made in this way which was a little sandy but not too bad.
I saw somebody do it with peanuts. They tasted really good with no hint of sand.
That's even cooler than the Turkish sand coffee!
Doesn't the sand stay with the rice? I know they sift it but I don't believe it's 100% sand free
