Carnival subsidiary Princess Cruise line announced that they will begin to allow up to 10% of passengers on board without a covid vaccine. This will not apply to cruises visiting Canada.

Belize is set to lift its vaccine requirements for cruise entry.

Royal Caribbean is changing Serenade of the Seas upcoming itineraries from Europe to the USA instead. The ship is believed to operate from Tampa FL.

The Margaritaville at Sea Paradise has been cleared fro cruises again by the US Coast Guard. The ship was grounded after it failed to meet a required 6-month inspection.

  1. Make sure all of the ports you visit also allow non-vaccinated. You don't want to pick a cruise just to find out one or more ports won't allow you in.

  2. Hopefully those 10% allowed aren’t made to segregate away or wear a marker indicating. Ready for complete normalcy

  3. Norovirus outbreaks….

…. are on record for all cruise ships since the year 2000 as part of the CDC’s VSP (Vessel Sanitation Program).

    https://www.cdc.gov/nceh/vsp/surv/GIlist.htm

Ship’s are listed by name, cruise date and include the numbers of Norovirus cases on board.

Click on sailing dates for detailed information.

I feel the same sort of record could be made of Covid case numbers on cruise ships.

This way potential guests can better decide which ships or cruise lines are best for them, at least as far as the risk of acquiring Covid is concerned.

As has happened with the VSP program, Cruise Lines may find themselves encouraged to do what they may deem necessary to keep their Covid case numbers down to manageable levels.

Cruise guests that consider themselves Covid vulnerable can decide whether or not to sail with a particular cruise brand or ship, especially when contemplating weeks long itineraries or back-to-back cruises.

    Stay Well….!

  4. The Princess cruise in Australia was mostly crew with Covid. Only 4 passangers out of the 112 people that tested positive

  5. I postponed my Mediterranean Cruise multiple times since July 2020. This was all due to COVID19 protocols. I've since booked for late June 2023. I crossing my fingers and hope those protocols are in the distant past.

  6. A L L passengers need to be vaccinated to their fullest ability and ALL testing ended. Because vaccination is the best defense and a test done 72 hours or lest proves nothing at embarkation

  7. It’s crazy to turn away perfectly healthy unvaccinated people! Cruise lines better drop these mandates and regulations if they hope to survive!

  8. Princess had always a 5 % unvaccinated allowance, we booked in November and 2021 and March 2022. You just ask for an exemption letter and it will be emailed to you. Now the CDC changed the 5 % to 10 % because unvaccinated passengers don't increase the risk of spreading Covid 19. UNVaccinated passengers need to get tested the day of cruising and not like vaccinated passengers 2 or 3 days before cruising.

  9. They are firing people over vaccination status.
But you can go Cruise in the Caribbean.

    I wonder who's benefiting from this ?
