Disney has purchased a half-constructed cruise ship and we’re left asking… why? Thank you to our Patrons for sponsoring this …

  1. Disney should invest getting into Port Aventura close to Barcelona, as management role and make a whole Disney e experience with the cruises and linking through Disney high speed train to the parks in Disneyland resort Paris as they already have highspeed trains stations in front of both resorts,,and maybe universal is taking this option in real consideration

  2. I do think it’s a good idea that the new Disney cruise ship should reach Asian cities like Shanghai, Hong Kong, Japan, etc.

  3. This is not the largest ship ever built, it’s a close fifth. The biggest is the Seawise Giant, The second is Icon of the seas, third is Oasis-Class, and finally MSC’s new ship. Those are the 4 biggest ships in the world right now.

  4. Your title for this video is misleading and fake lololol they didn’t buy the world largest. The global dream was originally 200,000 gross tonnage, the largest cruise ship to date is wonders of the seas by Royal Caribbean is 235,857 Tonnage. I swear people would do anything to just get some views on the internet.

  5. Guys, the Chinese financial collapse won't make any Chinese port home for this. Look to Thai/Malay or, yes, Oz. OR even India to cruise those waters.

  6. I agree that the ship would be set in Asia, and for Australia, they can use the smaller original ships like the magic and wonder. As someone who is booked for the Australian cruising, it's insane the demand

  7. Our parks our in need of maintenance, or stock price is in the tank, and we are cutting back on just about everything and raising our prices.
Let's buy this partially built cruise ship, it's a real bargain. Just don't ask how much it's going to cost to finish. It's going to be great!

  8. Disney has hit new lows in the cruise industry, trust me it won’t go China due to the cup lockdowns and control. I would be nice to see it return to the city it was meant to serve, but Hong Kong is also under lockdown and is beyond saving at this point. Disney needs to get out of the cruise industry and give the ship back to dream cruises now that they are back. So for where I want to to go? I want it to go back to dream cruise lines and for all other Disney ships to go to the bottom of the ocean!

  9. It might have also been a goodwill deal between Resorts World Intl (which is linked to Genting HK) to release some IPs for the Genting Malaysia theme park (remember, there were some disputes there once Disney bought over 20th Century).

It would be interesting to see this ship actually have itineraries from Japan down that line to Sth Korea, to HK, to maybe even the Philippines then doing a tour of SEA (Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia etc) then heading back up to Japan. Could be done chasing good weather (avoiding monsoon seasons closer to the equator and winter seasons further up north).

I know for sure that if it ever came to SEA, it would be fully booked.

  10. Damn shame with them throwing away the theme park idea. You'd think that'd be perfect for them considering they already have experience with their own parks. And it's not the first time they've tossed around the idea of a theme park at sea.

  11. I love this video at large❤❤,. you remind me of what someone once said.. " Making money is an Action, keeping money is behavior, Growing money is Knowledge" . I once attended seminar and ever since then i been waxing strong financially, and i most tell you the truth….

  12. Agreed with Dom that this ship is bound for Asia. From the looks of it, there seems to be a central promenade not unlike the Oasis class ships of RCCL. Although RCCL has a presence in Asia, their mega Oasis class ships have remained firmly in the Caribbean. Only Quantum class ships have ventured here to Asia. I think there its appetite for such large ships here in Asia.

  13. i want it to stay around new zealand and australia part of the world so people can see the characters and have that experiance without paying so much for flights, accommodation etc.

  14. Wonder if Disney is thinking about going forward with the plan Eisner once had, for a floating Disney “Park”???

  15. A few years ago Disney was fighting with Genting about building a casino in Florida…

Fast forward to now Disney seem to be doing a lot of "business" together with Genting – with them allowing Genting SkyWorlds theme park to use some Fox IPs and now also Disney purchasing Genting's Cruise Ship.

Anyways, I would love to see the Disney cruise ship start serving HK > MY > SIN market.

  16. You know Disney will want to launch and debut it in Florida for first sailings to claim dominance over having the largest cruise ship in the world to be the first ship to go to their new island. It's a statement move but after initial sailings, probably Asia with rotating it out to be in Florida every few years for limited runs (at crazy costs of course) while to give Asia older ships to clear their full Disney fleet bucket list die hard cruisers try to achieve.

  17. Last thing I want is to be on the "worlds largest cruise ship by passenger capacity". Have to admit though, that does make it sound very Disney.

  18. And they're about to fire hundreds of people from their theme parks? I think they are trying to save money for this ship.

  19. what a waste of hype, they removed the theme park which was one of the whole points of the cruise ship 🤦‍♂️

  20. I'm hoping for some more regular pacific sailings with the new ship, with lots more days at sea than average!

  21. I don’t think this ship will ever leave Asia, I think it’ll stay that side of the world servicing that market. If so then it makes sense.
The stacks will be converted to suites I’m sure.

  22. The ratio of staterooms to passenger capacity on this ship makes no sense. This ship has less staterooms than a Royal Oasis class ship, but can hold 1/3 more passengers? Where??

And with the cost of 1 ship being $1B+, I’m not that surprised someone snapped this up.

  23. NOT the world's largest cruise ship. Who keeps saying that? Royal Caribbean's Oasis class is bigger than this, and the Icon class will be even bigger. With the largest passenger capacity, it will be the most crowded being smaller than the massive Royal Caribbean ships.
