On the first weekend of Japan reopening to tourism we went to the Tokyo Skytree Tower, explored the nightlife in Shinjuku, and finished off the day at Golden Gai! The Tokyo Skytree is the tallest tower in the world and has an amazing view over Tokyo. We explain how to get tickets, the cost, and show off what it has to offer – including the Tembo Galleria! After sunset at the Skytree, we head to Shinjuku, a neighborhood known for its bustling nightlife. Then we make our way to Golden Gai, a neighborhood filled with hundreds of tiny bars!

Something interesting I noticed even at those major touristy sites in Japan, locals are always way more than foreign tourists. That was the case 3 years ago when i was there and is still the case today.
Good thing about SUICA card is lots of vending machines takes that card making it no hassle to carry heavy changes around.

You can see the size of the tower well.
Kabukicho is certainly a tourist destination.
But most of the customers who come here are people who live in Tokyo.
Therefore, all stores are of high quality.
Low quality stores will go out of business quickly.

Kabukicho isn’t a tourist district, it’s a red light district for host clubs lolll mostly locals frequent there for the bars and host clubs.

I’m traveling to Tokyo in 3 weeks as a solo traveler, will be my first time in Japan and first time traveling by myself. Do you recommend me going to Golden Gai to possibly meet new people or there are better bar/drinking areas? Thanks
