Japan is the only country with stand-alone Homme Plissé Issey Miyake stores. Today, it opened its largest one ever. Designed by Tokujin Yoshioka, Homme Plissé Issey Miyake spans 225 square meters and completes a family of Issey Miyake brand flagships in Aoyama.

Inspired by the beauty of passing time, Tokujin chose to utilize and enhance the original texture of the building’s structural features. And to keep the area spacious and open. It includes a “floating shelf” and 4-meter-long steel clothing rack — the longest he has ever designed for Issey Miyake stores.

But the main event is the permanent installation of an actual pleating machine. During limited hours, customers can watch garments being pleated instore. If you’re lucky, you could even choose an item and watch it being pleated for you. (📸 Mio Yamada @nomadcat_mio)
