Maybe one of the most beautiful places on Okinawa, this waterfall lies in the very remote part of Nago City. It is probably one of the least known waterfalls on Okinawa.

While the hike in is possible on the dedicated trails that offer a great 20-30 minute walk through the forest with some stairs and steeper sections. There is also a great river walk as long as you don’t mind a few spider webs and some wet slippery rocks.

Fukugawa waterfall has a nice size swimming lagoon and a small cave behind the falls to explore and cool off at the end of the trek. Just be sure to bring enough water and sensible hiking shoes as there are no shops or phone service in the valley.

  1. Just visited today. Absolutely beautiful, easy hike but a great reward at the end, that swimming hole is amazing in the Okinawa heat.
