The Financial District is the central business district of Los Angeles located at west side of Downtown Los Angeles. It is south of the Bunker Hill district bordered by 3rd street, west of the Historic Core area by Oliver Street, north of South Park area by 8th street and east of the Harbor Freeway. The Financial District is home to corporate office skyscrapers, hotels and related services as well as banks, law firms, and real estate companies. The Financial District contains large buildings from the early 20th century, particularly along 7th Street. The area also attracts visitors as the 7th and Flower area is at the 7th Street Metro Center of the Los Angeles Metro light rail system and is filled with restaurants, bars, and shopping at two urban malls: FIG at 7th Shopping Center and The Bloc Mall.
South of the Financial District is the area of South Park. South Park area is the southwest part of Downtown Los Angeles. South Park neighborhood is full with modern high-rise condominium and apartment homes and luxury hotels. South Park is a vibrant hot spot where sports, entertainment, and dining spectacularly intersect. The huge L.A. Live entertainment complex is located at the heart of South Park. Nearby, visitors will find the Los Angeles Convention Center and Crypto.com Arena since December 2021, previously named Staples Center. Crypto.com Arena is a multi-use arena that is the home of the Lakers, Clippers, Kings, and Sparks, as well as boxing events and superstar concerts. Star Plaza outside of Arena is one of the main tourist attractions for Downtown Los Angeles. Visitors can take picture of famous Los Angeles athletes and broadcasters’ statues like Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, Bob Miller and Chick Hearn. Next to Arena is the Team LA Store. Visitors can find LA sports gear, merchandise, and apparel at Team LA Store. Surrounding area is L.A. LIVE, an entertainment and dining complex centered by the open-air, brightly lit Microsoft Theater, Grammy Museum, and Xbox Plaza. The campus features sports and music venues, The Novo night club, the JW Marriott Hotel, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Yard House restaurant and Fixins Soul Kitchen. L.A. LIVE becomes Downtown Los Angeles tourist destination since 2010 Marriott hotels’ open. The nearest public transportation is Metro PICO station
