Yoshikien (吉城園) is a delightful traditional garden by Nara Park that few in the tourist stampede to Todaiji Temple venture to discover.
Within Yoshikien are 3 distinct gardens – a moss garden, a pond garden, and a flower garden for tea ceremonies.
The entrance fee is waived for foreign tourists.
Yoshiki-en offers a very serene atmosphere and offers a quiet place to relax and take a break after rushing to all the Nara sights. Yoshikien is often combined with another garden visit nearby, the Isuien Garden.
