Peru is probably one of South America’s most well-known destinations, and the mysterious settlement of Machu Picchu has adorned many a tourist postcard. But while the country is certainly celebrated for the Inca Trail and its ancient archeological site, Peru has so much more to offer than crumbling ruins. Explore the museums of Lima, soak in the hot springs of high-altitude Cusco, and fly over the astonishing Nazca lines. Here’s a look at the best places to visit in Peru:

  1. Huacachina is 100x better than Nazca. I've seen most of Peru and Huacachina should be 2nd on this list behind Machu Picchu

  2. I'm here now, been to a few of these places and making my way around Peru, so beautiful 😍 Don't forget the jungle, Amazon, rivers, 1835 species of birds, this video covers the basics

  3. Yo no imaginé que este país fuese un peladero. El lago es de agua helada. Y hasta la capital es apagada. Necesita un revulsivo

  4. Don’t forget about CARAL and the Peruvian Amazon which occupies 60% of the territory.
Peru is more than Machu Picchu, but these ruins along with Cuzco are a ‘must’ visit.
    ❤️🇵🇪

  5. These videos about Latin America always give me a bittersweet feeling because they make me think of how greater we would be if the colonizers hadn't massacred the natives and stolen so much of their culture…

  6. Took a fantastic tour to Peru. Lima, Cusco, Machu Pichu, Iqutios and Down the Amazon River to an incredibly comfortable resort.
    Would LOVE to return and
    see/do more.
I wouldn't mind retirement in Mira Flores. Please.

  7. Unfortunately, this breathtaking land of the Inkas is run today by a fully-incompetent government unable to fend off strikes and dealing with the social chaos in the Andes. Huge boulders on the rail tracks to Machu Picchu by local strikers screwed my holidays. I'll never come back nor will I recommend my friends to visit this country.

  8. There was a time when we use to read about countries and places in books, thanks to digital revolution, if we cant visit, atleast we can see these beautiful places in the world.

  9. Those reed-canoes are super super cool and so simple to make, yet difficult to master – One of mankind's more obscured inventions 4 sure

  10. hay lugares mucho más bellos y encantadores en este país, pero siempre hablan de los mismos…

  11. thanks peruvian andpuerto rico for deeply concerns over my issue. hope i can get in to. thanks for 365 days 4me.

  12. 8:54 For those who are interested in the topic of polygonal masonry. A number of methods for obtaining the polygonal masonry are proposed. The basis of the proposed methods is the use of clay/gypsum replicas, reduced clay models of stone blocks and a 3D-pantograph, as well as a topography translator. The results are presented in the article: “Fabrication methods of the polygonal masonry of large tightly-fitted stone blocks with curved surface interfaces in megalithic structures of Peru” (DOI: 10.20944/preprints202108.0087.v6). I do not provide a direct link, because YouTube does not allow a comment with this link. Search by the article title.
