Who are Kara and Nate?!
Watch our documentary here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuFv4iF8wgg&t=1s
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment. We discovered the world of “travel hacking” & became obsessed. So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world. Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went home to “normal life.” We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with this lifestyle and did everything we could to keep going. 4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to 😉 Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time. Van life was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎

Boy you would think that you would be better packers and would have better quantity travel wear. Me? Carry-on only. 6 days or six months pretty much the same.
I LOVE a packing video 😊 My travel brush is similar to Nate’s. It’s a Singapore airlines folding brush which the handle broke off and it’s tiny, light and just what I need.
As always you make it interesting. 1 question what is the brand of your backpacks. Looks perfect for what I need
I learned that you guys need to take care of your backs!
Nate – maybe you already know – Muh-Man! get the DJI Mini 3! Getting ready to come home after 2 weeks in the Czech Republic, Poland, and Slovakia. Awesome Pictures!!! The drone is light and you can get either the 249g batteries or the slightly bigger ones with a longer flight time.
OMG…………y'all are just too,too freakin' adorable………this gr.ma loves y'all
100% team loofah.
You guys should put a full change of clothes and all your overnight necessities in your back packs so next time your checked bags get lost, you can get on with life much better. Move some batteries and GoPro's to suitcases
I loved Kara’s perspective on packing “what if’s” – 💯%, every trip I over pack bc of, what if’s!!!
I've only recently found your channel (from your SLV sail :D)), only seen a few of your videos, and found this one to be super helpful!!
The best advice for me was:
simplifying what you wear,
thinking about situations you might wear different clothes in,
how to dress up or down the same outfit,
bring an extension cord,
and the reminder that we can buy things at our destination if we forgot them so no need to overpack!!!
I live overseas, so I've made a lot of trips back home over the years and it's always stressful to pack and I always bring things that I don't end up using. Your video helped me to feel better about my next trip home 🙂
hi kara and Nate im wondering where you got ur backpacks that you always travel with I really want to purchase one of them for my travels xx
Who makes your suitcase and carryon backpack? What models?
I need that backpack. Make? I heard you say you found it on instagram….but I neeeeeed more info…please?
Hi guys have ye any plan's to travel back to Ireland 🇮🇪 I would love to see yer view's on the range of beautiful food and places to eat and visit in this amazing country.
Nate made me laugh with his influencer impression 🤣
Hi guys! Love the video! Wanted to ask, could you link your colder weather puffy jacket and raincoat combo? Been trying to figure out the best way to pack for all 4 seasons without it taking too much space for ages, would love to know exactly what brand and product you use for that! Thank you 😊
What's the brand of the back pack & suitcase you use?
I find that less is more works for me. Having items with more than one use is also helpful and I love packing cubes. Thanks for the insight into your process. Hello from London : – )
Love watching the videos!!! My husband and I have been watching for years while drinking coffee on Saturday mornings. The “what if” tip was great! We found a lot of overlap with how we pack as well for trips. When I first started traveling I would have like 6 pairs of shoes. Now, I only pack tennis shoes and a pair of sandals. For the Vs questions: packing cubes and luffas all the way! Checked vs carry on depends. Carry on for domestic flights and checked for international.
To be honest… my other half was bored. However, I was not! I'm always curious how people who live unconventional lifestyles still manage the "boring" normal stuff. Even though I don't live out of a suitcase, I think this exemplifies how over consumed we all are with our stuff and it's inspiring in a minimalist way. Also, no holes in six years?!?!? impressed and heading to amazon for the bored half now 😛
Definitely roll and fold. Different articles of clothing need to be packed in different ways. I only have 1 separate bag for my shower gear.
Love your carry on bag.
apple tracker is the best idean!!
