The perfect place for reflection…🌾
You may have spotted ‘tanada’ or rice terraces while travelling through the Japanese countryside. From April through May, the paddies are filled with water and reflect the surrounding landscape. 😍
In an effort to preserve this scenic landscape, Kanayama Rice Field in Ichinoseki, Iwate Prefecture offers Japanese residents the chance to become an ‘owner’ of one of the 50 rice paddies for an annual fee of 20,000 yen (approx. A$212). In addition to receiving 3kg in rice harvested from the field, they also receive commemorative gifts, discounted entry to events and the opportunity to help out on the farm! 🍚
