With its towering ceiling and giant pillars, this looks like a mysterious underground world. Created to safeguard against flooding in the area surrounding Tokyo, the Metropolitan Area Outer Underground Discharge Channel stretches for approx. 4 miles and is about 160 feet underground making it one of the largest subterranean drainage channels in the world.
