This passageway of “Hakuryu Gates” at Saidoji Temple was completed in May of 2021, and has already become a popular spot!
Its white color was inspired by Hakuryu (means white dragon) who accompanied the famous Buddhist monk Kukai and brought the production methods of Hoso ware (Hoso-yaki) from Tang in the Heian period (the early 9th century) 🤍
