This time I boarded the Kintetsu Limited Express Hinotori train from Tsuruhashi Station to Kintetsu Nara Station🚊.
The name “Hinotori” was apparently named by superimposing the image of a graceful train offering spaciousness and high quality service on that of a “Hinotori” spreading its wings wide in flight.
Hinotori has been highly acclaimed, winning the Blue Ribbon Award in 2021 and the Good Design Award in 2020.
I rode in the premium seat this time, but even the ordinary seat has a “back shell” that covers the maximum reclining range, allowing passengers to feel as if they are enveloped in the seat. The height-adjustable footrests and power outlets in the front seats make you feel like you are in a premium environment. The premium seats are made of genuine leather, and the distance between the front and rear seats is 130 cm, so even though I am 157 cm tall, I can stretch out my legs without bumping into the seat in front of me!
There is also an area on the deck where you can relax outside of your seat, lockers where you can leave your large luggage for free, and a large multi-purpose restroom where you can change clothes.
What surprised me the most this time was the quietness of the sound and the spaciousness of the windows, which gave me a feeling of openness. I think the soundproofing is excellent, but there was no noise at all, and the large windows made me feel as if I was flying like a Hinotori.
