Hirosaki Park in Aomori Prefecture is one of the best places to experience the beauty of the cherry blossom season in all of Japan. Want to rent a paddle boat and float down a river with trees on all sides? You’ve got it. Walk down a corridor with cherry blossoms forming the walls and ceiling? It’s here. Relax and watch a flood of pink float lazily down a moat? Yep, you’ll find that at Hirosaki Park as well. The cherry blossoms at this wondrous park come from around 2,500 weeping cherry trees.
There’s even a Japanese castle from the 1600s (rebuilt in the 1800s after it was burned down following a bolt of lightning), a shrine, and even a botanical garden within walking distance of the park itself. Hirosaki Park is definitely a great place to come for a visit!
