From the Nakashibetsu Bus Terminal, I took a walk around Nakashibetsu Town.
The Nakashibetsu Bus Terminal was built on the site of the former Nakashibetsu Station of the Hokkaido Railway Shibetsu Line, which was discontinued on April 30, 1989.
Nakashibetsu has a population of 20,000 and is mainly a dairy farming town.
It has Nakashibetsu Airport, which has regular flights to Tokyo and Shin-Chitose (Sapporo).
Therefore, Nakashibetsu is also the center of tourism and commerce in the surrounding area.
However, it was early on a Sunday morning, so many stores had not opened yet, and there seemed to be fewer people than usual.
