This rugged yet charming “snow monster” at the sides of the picture is from the Hakkoda Mountains in Aomori Prefecture, framing the view of the distant Mt. Iwaki, also from the Prefecture. The trees covered in “snow monster” are made of light fog that instantly froze; a rare natural occurrence that adds to the magical feeling of this view that simply has to be seen to be believed.
