On our second day in Ashikaga we went to the Ashikaga Flower Park. The park is just one stop away from Ashikaga Station. Our hotel was conveniently just across the street from Ashikaga Station.
Ashikaga Flower Park is a sprawling part containing a wide variety of flowers and flowering plants. In 2014 it was selected by CNN as the “World’s Dream Travel Destination”. The park is best known for its wisteria that are in bloom from mid April to mid May. We went in the middle of June so we did not see the Wisteria in bloom.
Ashikaga Flower Park breaks the year into eight seasons depending on what is in bloom. We came for the end of Rainbow Garden (rose, rhododendron) and the beginning of Blue and White Garden (Iris, hydrangea). We greatly enjoyed the park and will probably come back again.
