Every three years, a dozen islands in the Seto Inland Sea are transformed by a modern art festival – the Setouchi Triennale. Although the next event isn’t slated till 2022, these art islands off the coast of Okayama remain abuzz, with many installations from previous festivals that now call this place home.

One of the first pieces visitors are greeted with is the intriguing JR Uno Port Line Project, where four stations on the Uno Line have been embellished with simple black and white compositions to accentuate the changing countryside at each station. There’s something new and wonderful to discover at each stop! 🚉
