The splendid sculpture, Ichou Kannon Ginkgo Statue, seen here in a 450-year-old Ginkgo Biloba tree in Wakasa, Fukui Prefecture, is an act of worship to the 11-faced Goddess of Mercy. The carving stands watch under the rich green leaves and blue sky.
