Ziro Valley | Arunachal Pradesh | First Solo Trip | Places to Visit in India

This film highlights my solo trip to Ziro Valley which is located in the state of Arunachal Pradesh in India. It includes Naharlagun, Potin, Apatani Lady, Mudang Tage, Nago, Babo, Ziro Puto, Mithun, Tarin Fish Farm, Baching, Yanio. Apatanis are among few tribes in the world who continue to worship nature. They have a distinct civilization with systematic land use practices and rich traditional ecological knowledge of natural resources management and conservation, acquired over the centuries through informal experimentation. The tribe is known for their colourful culture with various festivals. They predominantly reside in Ziro Valley in Arunachal Pradesh. They have made Ziro Valley a good example where human and environment have harmoniously existed together in a state of interdependence even through changing times. Such co-existence are being nurtured by the traditional customs and spiritual belief systems. Ziro Puto is among the popular hills in Arunachal Pradesh, which offers a spectacular view of Apatani plateau and the entire Ziro town. Nago is not a normal hut for people of Arunachal Pradesh. Whenever some ghost or some evil spirits chase someone over here people enter in nago and they think ghost can’t enter nago. People over here worship nago. Babo is a long T shape which is present near every home over here to protect them from ghost. Sun flag is also present in almost every home because people over here follow Donyi Polo religion where they consider moon as male god and sun as female god. Here most of the marriage are love marriage. Guy just need to give mithun (domestic cattle) to girl and the marriage is done. No seperate celebration for marriage. One mithun cost around ₹80000. Yanio is a local wine made of rice. Baching is a local fruit consumed by people of Ziro Valley.
