Tropic like it’s hot! 🌴 Japan’s not all ancient shrines and neon-lit cities so if you’re craving some sun and sand, head to the southwestern Yaeyama Islands of Okinawa for a true beach escape. You’ll be spoilt for choice with 6 main islands and many more smaller ones such as Hamajima (pictured).
📍 New Ishigaki Airport is the main transportation hub of the islands. Direct flights to Ishigaki are available from Naha Airport on Okinawa main island, as well as major cities such as Tokyo and Osaka.
