Echizen Coast stretches in the west side of Fukui Prefecture from Tsuruga in the south all the way to Sakai city in Mikuni region in the north. Being designated as a national park this beautiful coastal view is much beloved by visitors nationwide. You would come across some rare type of rock formation along the road which runs right next to the water. There is a cape called Echizen Misaki in which you can see narcissus grow in mass. Their flower season comes in winter between December and March. To get the best view of this cape you can go up on the hill side along the road. Up in the north is a place where the water flowing out from Kuzuryu River. the land formation of this area is sticking out in a shape of a Japanese letter of く into Japan Sea. This long stretch of a saw-toothed coastline would surely fascinate your eyes on your visit. The part starting from a point where route 204 connects to route 8 is the beginning of Shiokaze Line which goes all the way toward north until a point the road joins to route 305.
