We visit the colourful Giant Kite Festival in Guatemala close to Antigua Guatemala. It is called El Festival de Barriletes Gigantes de Sumpango Sacatepequez Guatemala. It is celebrated on El Día de Los Muertos en Guatemala, also called Day of the Dead or All Saints day.
To get to the kite festival we are walking through the town of Sumpango. Here you find many food stalls serving delicious food. Except food you can buy for example traditional clothes and barriletes de Guatemala. We really enjoy our walk where we have the chance to see the local street life.
El festival de barriletes gigantes, is an event that has been on our bucket list for many years, and it is even more amazing and colourful than we imagined. Have you ever been to a #kitefestival anywhere in the world?
