JAPAN COUNTRYSIDE: Riding the Shinkansen + a day in KUMAMOTO CITY

After a night stay in Fukuoka, we decided to have a day tour of Kumamoto City. It is 2-3 hours away from Fukuoka but you can reach it in less than 40 minutes via the shinkansen (Japan’s bullet train).

Kumamoto City has less tourists compared to other major Japanese cities. However, the city is home to one of the three premier castles in Japan: The Kumamoto Castle!
